Activity Description

Day one: – 08h30 guests are met at Kazungula by their guide and are escorted through Immigration formalities. A short briefing will follow on some pertinent facts such as safety, and some regional information. At 09h30 guests board the boat and commence a 3 hour boat cruise into the Chobe National park. The river cruise is considered one of the highlights of the trip, as one gets the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic birdlife, hippos, crocodiles, and of course scores of elephant and Cape buffalo that make their way down to the river to quench their thirst. The boat cruise ends at the Kalahari offices at 12h30 . After a hearty lunch at the restaurant there is an opportunity to do last minute shopping in Kasane before departing on an afternoon game drive—this being the best time to see Chobe’s large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink.

Arrive in camp shortly after sunset for drinks around the camp fire and dinner under the stars.

Day two: – Guests are woken at dawn with warm water being poured into their basins and a friendly Botswana “dumela” (good day). After a quick cup of tea or coffee and a light continental breakfast, vehicles head off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats, or possibly the endangered Wild dogs as they are still active at this time and chances of seeing them are good. Around mid to late morning guests return to camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and a siesta getting an opportunity to read, rest or take a refreshing shower.

When the day starts to cool off another afternoon game drive follows tea, and good sightings are revisited or areas as yet unexplored are visited. Chobe National Park has a wide variety of game – the cats and large herbivores such as elephant and buffalo being a highlight, but rarer game such as Puku ,Eland, Sable and Roan antelope along with many more common antelope can be viewed here. Return to camp after sunset for a reflective fireside chat. Dinner follows, as always accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African night.

Day three – After another “dumela” dawn awakening and breakfast, guests leave the national park for an early morning game drive, as this is the second night in the bush the chances are great to find new exciting game around. After the drive we head back to camp for our last and final meal in the campsite. Guests have the time to freshen up and pack up to prepare themself for exciting the camp to head to Kalahari Tours through the park – last chance to explore the National Park on our 4×4 vehicle to then end up for their last but not least boat cruise on Chobe River. After the boat cruise our guests are dropped off in Kasane/Kazungula border at 16h30.

Customer Reviews

Unforgettable three days and two nights in Chobe. We came across elephants, giraffes, crocodiles, hippos, zebras, impalas, kudus, stunning eagles, beautiful birds...and even lions and leopards with Caleb, such a passionate and engaging guide who made every moment special. Sleeping in tents at night added just the right touch of adventure. Truly an amazing experience --- highly recommended. - Guido

Safari experience was awesome! We felt ourselves completely safe with our guide Moses, we saw much more animals that the we supposed to see. Sleeping in the camp in the Savana was an experience unique and immersive that we absolutely recommend! From the sunrise to the sunset colors brightened by the milky way stars while the sounds of the animals make your lullaby. There are no words to describe this experience other that experiencing it firsthand. - Alessandra

We recently went on the 2 night 3 day Chobe tented safari and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. From collection at our lodge in Livingstone to our return everything went smoothly. Our ranger was Gee who was an absolute pleasure to be with. His knowledge of the park was exemplary and he went out of his way to make sure all of our group saw the animals they most wanted to see. The food was excellent, hats off to the bush chefs?. The accommodation was as expected and my only comment would be that the camping mat for sleeping could have been thicker. However my husband seemed to sleep like a log. The toilet facilities were not as daunting as I'd imagined. Our group all got along with each other and was a meeting of nations, British, American, Japanese and Italian. I would recommend this adventure it will be a memory that will last forever. - Gill

We've had an excellent experience with Kalahari Tours. - Helene

We had a wonderful 2 night camping experience. The chef did a great job serving up nourishing meals. Our guide worked hard to find as many of the amazing Chobi animals as was possible. We were rewarded with sightings of Leopards, Wild Dogs, Elephants, Giraffe, Warthog, Lions the many species of antelope including Sable, Honey Badger, Crocs, Hippos and more.... Thank you Kalahari for a memorable trip. - Diane
