Activity Description

Day one: – 08h30 guests are met at Kazungula by their guide and are escorted through Immigration formalities. A short briefing will follow on some pertinent facts such as safety, and some regional information. At 09h30 guests board the boat and commence a 3 hour boat cruise into the Chobe National park. The river cruise is considered one of the highlights of the trip, as one gets the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic birdlife, hippos, crocodiles, and of course scores of elephant and Cape buffalo that make their way down to the river to quench their thirst. The boat cruise ends at the Kalahari offices at 12h30 . After a hearty lunch at the restaurant there is an opportunity to do last minute shopping in Kasane before departing on an afternoon game drive—this being the best time to see Chobe’s large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink.

Arrive in camp shortly after sunset for drinks around the camp fire and dinner under the stars.

Day two: – Guests are woken at dawn with warm water being poured into their basins and a friendly Botswana “dumela” (good day). After a quick cup of tea or coffee and a light continental breakfast, vehicles head off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats, or possibly the endangered Wild dogs as they are still active at this time and chances of seeing them are good. Around mid to late morning guests return to camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and a siesta getting an opportunity to read, rest or take a refreshing shower.

When the day starts to cool off another afternoon game drive follows tea, and good sightings are revisited or areas as yet unexplored are visited. Chobe National Park has a wide variety of game – the cats and large herbivores such as elephant and buffalo being a highlight, but rarer game such as Puku ,Eland, Sable and Roan antelope along with many more common antelope can be viewed here. Return to camp after sunset for a reflective fireside chat. Dinner follows, as always accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African night.

Day three – After another “dumela” dawn awakening and enjoy your last breakfast in the bush, after the breakfast we will be ready to depart out from the National Park to be in Kasane or Kazungula border at 08h30.

Customer Reviews

Had an amazing experience. Six was a great guide and we got lucky with the all the animals that were around (saw many lions, a cheetah and a black mamba, in addition to all the elephants, baboons, giraffe, zebra, impala and kudu). Food was delicious (including vegetarian catered for me) and camp was comfortable. Would recommend to anyone thinking of doing safari. Our boats stalled a couple of times during the boat tour. Maybe due to poor fuel or lack of maintenance... that was the only issue on the whole trip. - Kayne

It was a fantastic trip. Perfect amount of time to spend in Chobe. Our guide, Six couldn't do enough for us. Great glamping set & food provided. - Jacqui

Excellent safari. Six was a great guide. Thank you! - Mike

An authentic and rich experience in the bush! Sam was a knowledgeable and attentive guide. The variety of animals and birds on the west side of the Chobe National Park were fantastic. Great camping and fireside times. - Kitching

This was the second of two safari experiences and we really enjoyed the authenticity of staying in tents in Chobe National Park. Great game drives, great food and like- minded people sharing the experience. The drop outlet and bush showers were also surprisingly acceptable! - Caroline
