Activity Description

Day one: – 08h30 guests are met at Kazungula by their guide and are escorted through Immigration formalities. There is an opportunity to do any last minute shopping in Kasane, as there are no shops within the Park. A short briefing will follow on some pertinent facts such as safety, and some regional information. At 09h30 guests board the boat and commence a 3 hour boat cruise into the Chobe National park. The river cruise is considered one of the highlights of the trip, as one gets the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic birdlife, hippos, crocodiles, and of course scores of elephant and Cape buffalo that make their way down to the river to quench their thirst. The boat cruise ends at the Coffee Buzz at 12h30. After a satisfying meal there is an opportunity to do any last minute shopping in Kasane, as there are no shops within the Park.An afternoon game drive follows and this is the best time to see Chobe’s large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink.

Return to camp shortly after sunset for drinks around the camp fire and dinner.

Day two: – guests are woken at dawn with warm water being poured into their basins and a friendly Botswana “dumela” (good day). After a quick cup of tea or coffee and a light continental style breakfast, you head off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats or Wild dogs as they are still active at this time and chances of seeing them are good. Around mid to late morning guests return to camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and an opportunity to take a refreshing shower. After packing up, all leave the camp on the last drive, to be dropped off in Kasane/Kazungula 16:30.

Customer Reviews

We had the most amazing time in the 2 day 1 night safari with kalahari tours. They are very organized, the guides know a lot and are very polite and nice. The camp was great and the food was amazing, really tasty. We will definitely recommend it for friends. - Talita

We enjoyed every minute of our trip! The boat cruise was really nice and successful with crossing elephants, which was our biggest wish. The game drives in Chobe and our guide were excellent, as well as the supporting camp team! Nice food! - Greta

We took the safari with our 2 daughters and a son-in-law visiting us from USA. The experience from beginning to end was simply wonderful. The guides for all parts of the tour were great, the camping very well organized and comfortable, and the game viewing was awesome - although I am sure it is unpredictable how the animals will cooperate for the viewing! We would definitely rate this a 5 star experience. - Karen

We were very happy with our Chobe safari with Kalahari. I'm so glad we went ahead and did the 2 full days, so that we could not only enjoy staying out in the park and camping, but also having plenty of time to do 2 game drives on the second day and not feel rushed. Our guide OP was fantastic! He was funny and engaging, and also did a really great job at finding the main attractions we were there to see, the animals! We got to see so many different animals, several of which are apparently not common to spot, and I was ecstatic to finally see a leopard. I'd been on a safari in Kenya before, and that was the one animal I'd really wanted to see but hadn't, so now 12 years later I finally got to see not one, but three different leopards! I also very much enjoyed the boat ride along the Chobe River before we set off into the National Park. That gave us a different perspective and a chance to see other animals and get much closer than we could have on land. We felt safe and comfortable with OP during the safari, and were well taken care of. Would definitely recommend this safari company and OP as a guide. - ERICA

- Pascal
