Activity Description

Enjoy a unique one day, one night safari in the iconic Chobe National Park.

Your adventure commences with a 3-hour river cruise into Chobe National Park, a highlight of the trip as you get the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic birdlife, hippos, crocodiles, and of course scores of elephant and Cape buffalo that make their way down to the river to quench their thirst.

Enjoy a delicious lunch at Coffee Buzz restaurant and then head back into the park for a game drive, exploring the riverfront en route to Camp which is guaranteed to impress even seasoned Safari goers. This is the best time to see Chobe’s large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink.

Return to Camp shortly after sunset for drinks and dinner around the camp fire, and enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep as you listen to the sounds of the surrounding bush.

Awaken at dawn the next morning with a friendly Botswana “dumela” (good day), and after a light breakfast we will continue out of the park and are dropped off in Kasane/Kazungula at 08.30am

This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the best of Chobe National Park with an unforgettable night’s sleep under the African sky.

Customer Reviews

An unforgettable camping trip with Kalahari tours. Our guide was committed to showing us as much as he could and allowed us lots of time to sit and watch the wildlife while explaining facts and behaviors. During the morning river cruise the animals were very active and we even saw a family of elephants crossing the chobe river, hippos play fighting jumping out of the water. On the game drives we saw lots of elephants and antelopes, zebra, a pride of about 10 lions including cubs, and we're lucky enough to spot a leopard around sunset just as we were heading to camp. Our guide was great about tracking her through the bush so we could watch but without disturbing her. The dinner prepared by the staff was delivious. Also aleeping under the many stars and hearing the calls of the animals in the morning was amazing. The tents were really good quality and never got cold inside as I'd expected. In the morning we got to watch another group of lions at a distance as they feasted on their kill before heading back to town. All in all a five star experience! - Laura

Guides were fantastic! Saw loads of animals and breathtaking sites. A few adjustments could be made to the campsite to make the experience 5-star. Simple hanging lamps/flashlights in tents so one can see. A few more handing lamps around camp fire so you can actually see what you're eating. A hanging lamp by toilet site so you can actually see what you're doing. Food was simple but delicious. Would highly recommend! - Yolanda

The 3 of us did the one day, one night safari. The team at Kalahari Safari were excellent. They were professional, knowledgable about the game and nothing was too much trouble for them. The cruise on the Chobe River was excellent and we saw a lot of animals on the island. They were able to get us within 3 metres of 3 hippopotami at the river bank. This was followed by lunch at the offices and then a drive through the massive reserve. As it was dry season we were fortunate to see just about all the game we were looking for. The night in the tents was "interesting". A real "back to nature" experience. If you like 5 star creature comforts this is not for you. However, we really enjoyed it and enjoyed meeting and chatting with other guests around the campfire. We did a final game drive the next morning. Kalahari Safari transferred us to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, all as included part of the tour cost. I can highly recommend this company. From the great communication during the booking process, storing our suitcases in their office while we did the safari and the excellent service, they are definitely a company to consider for your Chobe game safari. - Mark

The one day/one night safari camping trip with Richard was a fantastic experience. Richard's knowledge is unparalleled and we were able to see a wide range of animals. Not only is camping in the well-appointment and comfortable camp in Chobe so special, but it also allows you to stay far into the park beyond the time that all the day trippers must leave. Kalahari is organized and a pleasure to work with. I hope I have the opportunity to do another trip with Kalahari and have been recommending their tour to others without pause. - SJG
