Activity Description

Enjoy a unique one day, one night safari in the iconic Chobe National Park.

Your adventure commences with a 3-hour river cruise into Chobe National Park, a highlight of the trip as you get the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic birdlife, hippos, crocodiles, and of course scores of elephant and Cape buffalo that make their way down to the river to quench their thirst.

Enjoy a delicious lunch at Coffee Buzz restaurant and then head back into the park for a game drive, exploring the riverfront en route to Camp which is guaranteed to impress even seasoned Safari goers. This is the best time to see Chobe’s large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink.

Return to Camp shortly after sunset for drinks and dinner around the camp fire, and enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep as you listen to the sounds of the surrounding bush.

Awaken at dawn the next morning with a friendly Botswana “dumela” (good day), and after a light breakfast we will make your way out of the park and are dropped off in Kasane/Kazungula at 08.30.

This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the best of Chobe National Park with an unforgettable night’s sleep under the African sky.

Things to Bring Generally, casual comfortable clothing is suitable throughout the year, dull neutral colours are most suitable. Campsites are very sandy so suitable footwear is advised. T shirts. Jeans or safari trousers for the cool evenings and mornings. A fleece or warm sweater for those early morning game drives. A good pair of Sunglasses. Sun block, a hat and insect repellent are essential! Binoculars and a camera with charged batteries - there is no electricity in the bush (we can charge via the cigarette lighter 12V only). A headlamp or torch is vital. If you enjoy a whisky or the like, you are welcome to bring a bottle along to sip by the Campfire. A towel, and your own toiletries (ladies please remember there are no shops for emergencies) Any medication if necessary, we do have a medical aid box with the basics. There will be times when you are exposed to the sun so a thin long sleeve shirt may come in handy. The early morning drives will be very cold in the winter months - so layers are best to keep out the chill in the back of the game drive vehicle. (June-Aug.) Customer Reviews

The 3 of us did the one day, one night safari. The team at Kalahari Safari were excellent. They were professional, knowledgable about the game and nothing was too much trouble for them. The cruise on the Chobe River was excellent and we saw a lot of animals on the island. They were able to get us within 3 metres of 3 hippopotami at the river bank. This was followed by lunch at the offices and then a drive through the massive reserve. As it was dry season we were fortunate to see just about all the game we were looking for. The night in the tents was "interesting". A real "back to nature" experience. If you like 5 star creature comforts this is not for you. However, we really enjoyed it and enjoyed meeting and chatting with other guests around the campfire. We did a final game drive the next morning. Kalahari Safari transferred us to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, all as included part of the tour cost. I can highly recommend this company. From the great communication during the booking process, storing our suitcases in their office while we did the safari and the excellent service, they are definitely a company to consider for your Chobe game safari. - Mark Potgieter

The one day/one night safari camping trip with Richard was a fantastic experience. Richard's knowledge is unparalleled and we were able to see a wide range of animals. Not only is camping in the well-appointment and comfortable camp in Chobe so special, but it also allows you to stay far into the park beyond the time that all the day trippers must leave. Kalahari is organized and a pleasure to work with. I hope I have the opportunity to do another trip with Kalahari and have been recommending their tour to others without pause. - SJG X2
